Your info powers your alerts. That is it.
What we collect
When you start a watch we collect your email address, your phone number, and the park and dates you want. That is the whole list. No accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
What we use it for
Your phone number gets the alert texts. Your email gets your magic link, alert copies, and updates about your watch, like the half-price guarantee if we never find you a site. These are messages about the service you paid for. Marketing email only happens if you tick the box asking for it at checkout, like the reminder when next season's booking dates open. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link.
What we never do
We never sell your info. We never share it for advertising. We never add you to a marketing list you did not ask to join. We never ask for your Ontario Parks or Parks Canada password.
Payments
Payments run through Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We only see that a payment happened and the email attached to it.
Cookies and tracking
One tag, and we will be straight about it: we run ads on Google, and a small Google tag tells us whether those ads actually lead to watches. It sets a Google cookie and counts visits and purchases in aggregate. That is the only tracking on the site. It never touches your watch details, we still never sell your info, and the site works fine if your browser blocks it.
Where your data lives
Watch details are stored in a database hosted in Canada. A few trusted services help us run CampHound: Stripe for payments, Twilio for texts, Resend for email, and Vercel for hosting. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
We keep watch records so your magic link keeps working and so we can honour the guarantee. Want your info gone? Email us and we will delete it.
Questions or requests
Email hello@camphound.ca to ask what we have, fix something, or have it deleted. A real person reads it.
